How to send us your files
Have files that are ready to print? We are experts with over 25 years of professional color creation and production. Your images are preflighted before printing to make sure the results will be the best quality. If we see any issues, we will contact you first.
File formats for best results:
JPG (max) or TIFF
RGB (8 or 16 bit)
Native resolution of 150 to 300 at print size (we will review files to make sure the resolution works for the print size)
For digital files larger than 20MB, please send them via WETRANSFER or arrange to share your DROPBOX with us.
Important copyright disclaimer:
By printing with WHITEPOINT, you agree that you are the creator or copyright holder for the work being printed and that we are not liable for work that contains content that infringes on another party's copyright.
Scanning
Calibrated high resolution photography and flatbed scans of original works
We photograph and scan artwork and old photos of all sizes and proportions with amazing results.
For reproduction of artwork, this is the most important first step. A proper digital master file makes a great print.
With most artwork, high resolution photography offers more flexibility with lighting than flatbed scanning. All art techniques are different and placement of light is key to making the best master image.
With our image capture process, you’ll have the best quality images for:
Printing your work
Creating a digital archive
Use on your website
Licensing your work
Publishing a book
High resolution imaging
Leica and Zeiss optics
Expert color mastering and digital imaging
150-300mb file sizes depending on the art size
We provide test strips
Flatbed scanning of small artworks
Film negatives
Old photos
Historic documents and ephemera
Oil paintings
Acrylic
Pencil / Pen
Guache
Pastel
Watercolor
Resin
Mixed media

Retouching & Digital Restoration
Take advantage of our in-depth knowledge of color mastering.
We may do minor adjustments to your digital files before printing, but if your photos or art need more than basic adjustments before printing, we will let you know, and upon request provide you with an estimate of cost.
Color photo improvements
Camera type, indoor, outdoor, light temperatures, day/night all give different color and image qualities. Before we print, we check for:
Light temperature
Color cast and profiles
Detail in shadows & highlights
Straightness of verticals & horizons
Unwanted defects, spots, etc.
Converting color to black & white for printing
Converting color photos to black and white is not straightforward. In order to get the quality of traditional black and white darkroom photos, we must:
Adjust contrast and highlights
Hold tones, introduce grain if desired
Keep neutral tones similar to traditional silver gelatin prints
Digital Restoration
Historical or damaged photos and artwork can be masterfully restored. Dust, scratches and blemishes can also be removed.
Remove spots, tears, aging
Bring back details
Improve fading and contrast
Restore or add color

Exhibits & Installations
WHITEPOINT is a one-stop production studio for preparing exhibits and installations large or small.
Planning, design & production
At the start, we design a down-to-the-inch mock up of the entire exhibit, creating an exact digital representation of the proposed exhibit and space, including all details such as frame styling and mat sizes and depths, and a layout of all images as they would be mounted in precisely measured spaces. Our process establishes the planning early and gives everyone a tight blueprint to keep all aspects of production on schedule.
A comprehensive approach
Curation
Every exhibition has its own unique requirements. We work with artists, curators, interior designers, art consultants, and program managers to design a cohesive exhibit, including image selection, placement, size relationships, image presentation, etc. - all geared for maximum viewer engagement.
Printing
Our digital print studio produces museum quality archival pigment prints of all sizes. We work with film negatives, slide film and digital originals. If the art or photograph exists only as an analog image, we will photograph or scan the originals. Our expert color mastering and use of cotton rag and fibre papers produces the best possible results. The Studio has the capability of producing all size prints on many different kinds of archival media.
Framing
Presentation of photographic prints and artwork is key to the success of an exhibit. We work with you to establish a framing/mounting plan and budget.
Delivery and installation
Depending on the location, insurance, building requirements, unions, etc., we may be available to deliver and mount the installation
